Volunteering At Place

Help Our Historic Gardens Flourish

Do you enjoy spending time outdoors and making a difference? We're looking for enthusiastic gardening volunteers to help care for the beautiful grounds of our historic home overlooking the River Fowey.

From colourful borders and mature trees to peaceful pathways and stunning river views, our gardens are an important part of the visitor experience. By joining our friendly volunteer gardening team, you'll help preserve this special place for everyone to enjoy.

Why Volunteer?

Whether you're an experienced gardener or simply enjoy being outside, volunteering offers the opportunity to:

  • Work in a beautiful historic setting with spectacular views of the River Fowey.

  • Share gardening and horticultural skills.

  • Meet like-minded people and enjoy being part of a welcoming community.

  • Improve your wellbeing through regular outdoor activity.

  • Help protect and enhance an important local heritage site.

No formal gardening experience is needed—just enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a love of the outdoors.

What You'll Be Doing

Depending on the season and your interests, you could help with:

  • Planting and maintaining flower borders.

  • Weeding and mulching.

  • Pruning shrubs and caring for established plants.

  • Maintaining pathways and garden features.

  • Supporting wildlife-friendly gardening projects.

  • Preparing the gardens for seasonal events and visitors.

There's always something to do, and every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference.

Flexible Volunteering

We understand that everyone has different commitments. We would be grateful for whatever you can offer.

What We Offer

As a gardening volunteer, you'll receive:

  • A warm welcome and full support from our team.

  • Opportunities to develop practical gardening skills.
